Hiring costs explained

How much does it cost to hire a domestic helper in Singapore?

Separate the one-time hiring quotation from the monthly cost of employing and caring for a helper.

There is no single total that applies to every employer. Country, hiring route, helper status, insurance, required processing and household eligibility can change the quotation.

One-time hiring costs

These may include the employment agency’s service fee, placement-related amounts, insurance, travel, medical, training and applicable Work Permit or processing requirements. Ask for an itemised quotation before confirming.

Monthly employment costs

Plan separately for the helper’s agreed salary, MOM levy, food, accommodation, medical care, rest-day arrangements and normal household expenses.

What the fixed service fee means

Jans Maid & Employment Agency applies a fixed employer-facing service fee to fresh MDW applications. It is one part of the total hiring cost and does not include every placement-related, mandatory or third-party amount.

  • Which items are Jans Maid & Employment Agency service fees?
  • Which charges are mandatory or paid to third parties?
  • Which amounts vary by helper or source country?
