Jans Maid & Employment Agency (UEN 53443004W) and Jans Maid Pte Ltd (UEN 202428939W) (“we”, “us”, “our”) respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal data in compliance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”).

By providing your personal data to us, you agree that we may collect, use and disclose it in accordance with this Policy.

  • Information required for MDW placement and employment, such as employer and MDW details, family profile, job scope, salary and benefits, preferences, references, employment history and MOM-related records.
  • Government-related documents, such as MOM application forms, work permit details, training records and medical records where required by law or MOM.
  • Payment information, such as bank transfer details or other billing information, when you pay for our services.
  • Website, social-media and online enquiry data, such as messages, social-media handles, and basic analytics information, when you contact us or use our website or social-media pages.

We may collect personal data directly from you, from your prospective employer or employee, from publicly available sources, and where applicable from MOM or other government agencies.

2. How We Use Your Personal Data

We may collect, use and disclose your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To process enquiries, applications and contracts for MDW placement and related services.
  • To prepare, submit and manage documentation to MOM and other relevant government agencies.
  • To communicate with you about your enquiries, applications, placements and related services.
  • To carry out billing, payments, accounting and record-keeping.
  • To manage our business operations, including audits, quality checks, staff training and service improvement.
  • To comply with applicable laws, regulations, codes of practice and requests from public agencies.

We will not use your personal data for purposes that are not stated above unless we notify you and, where required, obtain your consent.

3. WhatsApp, Social Media and Other Messaging

When you provide us with your mobile number or contact us through WhatsApp, social media or other messaging platforms, we may use these channels to respond to your enquiries and to send you information about your applications, placements and related services.

We do not send bulk promotional or advertising messages. If you prefer that we do not contact you through a particular channel, please let us know and we will update your contact preferences where reasonably possible.

4. Disclosure of Your Personal Data

We may disclose your personal data to the following parties, only on a need-to-know basis:

  • Ministry of Manpower (“MOM”) and other government or regulatory authorities.
  • Prospective and current employers and MDWs, to facilitate matching and placement.
  • Our service providers and professional advisers, such as IT providers, training centres, medical service providers, insurance companies, auditors and lawyers, who support our operations.
  • Any party to whom disclosure is required by law, regulation or court order.

We do not sell your personal data. Where we disclose personal data to third parties, we will make reasonable efforts to ensure they protect your data in a manner consistent with this Policy and the PDPA.

5. Overseas Transfers

Some of the above parties, or our IT systems, may be located outside Singapore. When we transfer your personal data out of Singapore, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that the receiving party provides a standard of protection comparable to the protection under the PDPA.

6. Data Protection and Security

We take reasonable security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, use, disclosure, modification or loss. These measures may include physical safeguards, administrative controls and technical measures such as password protection and encryption where appropriate.

However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as it is reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes stated in this Policy, to satisfy legal, regulatory or business requirements, or as required by MOM and other authorities.

When personal data is no longer needed, we will anonymise it or delete and dispose of it securely.

  • Request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Withdraw your consent for our collection, use or disclosure of your personal data, subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
